Help! My pediatrician got crabby with me because I didnt have my son off the bottle at one year. I have been trying all these expensive sippee cups and my son wont drink out of any of them unless they are very fast flow. The only ones I can get him to drink out of are the dollar store cups with just the slit opening in the spout...but they are pretty much like a regular cup cuz they pour out everywhere! I am looking for something in between that kind of flow and the kind of spout where the poor little guy has to be like a vacuum cleaner to get something out. Any suggestions? I dont care if they drip a little bit, but hes still pretty little so he doesnt have really enough control for a regular cup or the dollar store ones. Any advice is very appreciated!

  1. Actually I found that the Playtex insulated STRAW cups were a great transition and the kids thought it was fun to drink out of a straw.  For some reason everytime my son would drink out of a sippy cup he would start coughing like he was choking, I guess tipping the cup up real high caused that.

Also, the insulated straw cups allow the milk to be in there for hours without going bad.  They hardly drip, the munchkin straw cups drip. You can snap the Playtex cups shut so that's great for putting in a diaper bag, because I know sippy cups spill and I always lost the piece that you have to attach to keep it from spilling.  Btw, if you decide to get the straw cups remember not to tighten to the lid real hard something about the air pressure makes the sucking on the straw very hard for the baby.

  2. just give him the same all the time thas all att el cuervo.......

  3. Try the platex sippee cups. They are fast flowing, like a cheapo sippee cup, but they hold fast. Good luck. And don't let your doctor make you feel bad. It is fine for a one year old to still be bottle fed.

    Good luck.

  4. try the NUBY sippy cups from walmart- they have the silicone mouth piece and they do not have a slow flow. also they do not leak (at least not when i use them with my son nor did they leak with my daughter.) They are less then $2 each.

  5. I have always like the Playtex sippy cups..

EDIT: Rooney is right I forgot about those cups, my daughter did really well with those..
