Can anyone suggest a red semi sweet or sweet wine to drink with a red sauce pasta?

  1. Normally with red sauce and pasta a good dry wine is preferred.

    Cabernets Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Chianti, Merlot, are dry wines that pair well.

    If not into the dry reds you can try a Beaujolais,  which is a bit more fruity or you can have ICE wine which is sweet.

    There are some, not many decent sweet reds. The two best I know of are from the Tre Venezie region of Italy.

    "Recioto Classico della Valpolicella" and "Torcolota"


  2. I've had luck with generic semi-sweet table wines.

    Or, try a zinfandel
