  1. McDonalds

  2. The Mango Tree on Grosvenor Place in Victoria, the closest tube is Hyde Park Corner, its a lovely, very modern with a twist. Thai restaurant.

Or Atami a Japanese restaurant on Monck Street, nearest tube is St. James's Park.

Or  Il Convivio a Italian restaurant on Ebury Street, closest tube is Victoria.

all three are lovely, although if you like Thai food The Mango Tree is the best out of all three!

  3. go to Mcdonalds its great and u will enjoy it

  4. Well, if I was going for Christmas, I would want traditional English food.  So, I would like to highly recommend Shepherd's.  It's one of the Langan's restaurants, so the quality is superb.  It's a rather modern building, but the interior is tasteful and cosy (as an interior designer, I pay attention to these things!), and the food is fantastic.

I think for a Christmas meal, it's a great location.  Not all the food is heavy - they have Lobster salad and similar if your partner isn't keen on roasts with all the trimmings, but everything is very, very tasty.

Oh, and I'd personally recommend the Eton Mess for dessert.  Yum!

    Merry Christmas!

  5. The Mango Tree - it's Thai food and it delicious and the food is presented just beautifully.  Go, you'll love it!

  6. Try the Bank and Zander Bar in Buckingham Gate Road in Victoria.  Had a Christmas function there yesterday...fantastic..It boasts the longest bar in England.... and the food is absolutely delicious!!  You'll have to call them for a booking though..

  7. Cafe Rouge is a nce resturant to go to, Hope you have a good time

  8. I think you are going to have to go with The Mango Tree!

  9. If you want overpriced food to impress her... then go to Noura, its owned by some french - ish arab - ish dude.. but the food is nice -ish!

  10. Santini in Ebury Street is expensive but very, very good Italian.

  11. i suggest The Mango Tree

  12. The best restaurant by far around Victoria is Roussillon.  It has a Michelin star and does classical French cooking.  The place is awkwardly located (Victoria is not a hot dining destination) and so you have a good chance of getting a table.

Don't miss out on the chocolate croustillant for dessert - the chef here used to work at 3 star Michelin Louis XV and this was a dish he was taught there; it is almost as good here as at Louis XV.   See my web site below for a detailed review and contact details.

Other than that Victoria is generally bereft of really good restaurants.  However for something different you could try the Cinnamon Club, which does up-market Indian food in the very smart surroundings of the old Westminster Library (less than 10 minutes walk from Victoria station).

A very simple but quite romantic French bistro is La Poule au Pot in Ebury Street, which is an option if you can't get into Roussillon.

  13. all these people that said "mango tree"?

they're right.   Grosvenor St or somewhere like that.   5-10 minutes walk from Victoria Station

The food and service are priced correctly for what you get - which is excellent - but it's not overpriced so if you want to really burn money you'll have to eat quite a lot.

REALLY want to impress her?  come to Edinburgh and take her to the Witchery.  Your scran will not be less than £100 but it will be awesome.

  14. Agree with Cinamon Club and Mango Tree.

    What about the Ebury?

  15. Try lastminute.com

  16. The Mango Tree

  17. Gorgeous Turkish restaurant.  Not sure of the name or address but I know it's near Victoria.  The number is 0207 2337100.  Sorry to be vague

  18. Noura is excellent for Middle Eastern food.

There is a scottish place that does more traditional british food called Boisdale on Eccleston Street. Been there a few times and the service and food are good.

Also the Ebury Street Wine bar is also good and possibly more relaxed for a night out than the other 2.

Having said all that the best sandwich bar in London is also in Victoria Station by the bus station. There are 2 together. Highly recommended and a lot cheaper!

  19. I hear BURGER KING are doing a lovely Angus Burger!!!

  20. I can't remember the name but if you go out the main doors and if you turn left there is an italian restaurant buit into teh railway bridge ... it's lovely!   Hope you enjoy it .... so you gonna pop the question?

BTW if you go to a restaurant with low lighting it creates the illusion of love by making the pupil enlarge as it does when you love someone.  That's why romantic restaurants normally have low lighting ... so you stay for dessert lol
