  1. I didn't take the GMAT, but I did take the MCAT. I chose to take classes from Princeton Review in Berkeley. You want to choose a prep class near a good university because they draw their instructor pools from local grad students. The good thing about Princeton Review in Berkeley is that if you're taking a GMAT class, you might get Haas students who can tell you about applying to B-school.

The good thing about Princeton Review, at least for MCAT prep, is that they give you more classroom time than Kaplan. Kaplan is good if you prefer to study at home and use online materials. But since you asked for classtime, I'd say check out Princeton Review.

Princeton Review in Berkeley is on Shattuck just south of the BART station, literally a stone's throw.

And if it matters to you, I scored a 31 on the MCAT (85th percentile) after taking the Princeton Review at Berkeley.
