  1. AFMC is the Armed Forces Medical College. There are very few seats there. Also, you have to serve the Indian Armed Forces for a period of time, if you dont then you have to pay a specifiead amount of money as release amount. Since you're in 11th, you still have two years to go. That means you give your examination in 2010. Forms for AFMC will be available in December (2009 for you). The exam is in May (2010 for you).

AIIMS has its exam on 1st June (2010). The forms will be available starting from Dec-Jan. Getting into AIIMS is really hard.

To prepare for these exams you have to be thorough with class 11th syllabus. Those are your basics. Physics and Biology are usually harder than Chemistry but that also depends on how good you are at the subjects.

If any of your friends have joined institutes, then see if you can borrow some test material from them and practice answering questions. You have to be very good at answering objective questions. So practice from various books that are available or from borrowed institute books.

Time management is another thing. You have to be really fast in deciding answers. So when you practice, you can also time it side by side.

Since there is negative marking in the exams, you have to be careful. While practicing, if you dont know the answer for any question, then mark it, then learn the answer and try to remember it.

Also, later (2 years for you), practice on OMR sheets that can be downloaded on the net. These will give you an idea of how much time is required to mark the answers, and about how exactly you should go about it.
