I would start with backpage and craigslist. start with putting multiple ads throughtout the day. Try it for 3-5 days. YOu would want to put like 4 ads per day , different ads if possible.

Also try local papers, penny saver, etc..

Catchy name for business.

Magnetic sign to put on your trucks with name and phone numbers.  

Answer your phone.  Return calls.  

When you do a job ask for a written reference.  Make copies of it. Once you have a few of them put it in a nice presentation folder/binder. (Staples has really nice ones for under $10) Show this to potential customers.

Sound professional not like 2 yahoos with a truck and some wiring.  

Put ad in local paper.  Offer discount to senior citizens/vets.

Professional looking business cards.  

Try to hook up with local building supply stores/hardware stores.  See if they will refer customers to you. (How many men try to do it on their own before they figure out they are in over their head?)  

Postcards/flyers in mailboxes in older neighborhoods.



Ask your business insurance agent for referrals for customers who may need some electrical work done.  (They have a huge base of people who may have claims and need work done.  They also have other customers who are contractors looking for subs etc.)
