He's not into sports, so I doubt we'll be buying any of those types of games (unless my husband wants one!). I'm thinking of buying him a hot wheels game. I saw the steering wheel/remote combo. It says the remote is good for games that use a lot of buttons. Can anyone give me some feedback? Thanks!

  1. You don't NEED the wheel. Your remote control for the Wii just rests in it and you turn the wheel and your Wii remote moves. He can either use it, or just use the Wii remote like a wheel. The remote is good for games that are more of the move left and right, jump up and down type things. You will also need the remote for turning the system on, shaking it for certain commands, etc. If you are having more than one player, I suggest buying a second remote and second set of nun-chucks. The remotes are about $40 and the nun-chucks are $20. Check to see if you can get them used at EbGames or GameStop, that'll save you a decent deal.

The sports games aren't bad. I have Wii Sports and there's golf, tennis, bowling, baseball, boxing, and I think that's it. I'm not into sports myself, but it is fun using the remote as a bat, golf club, and a bowling ball. Let your son experiment with the first game you buy him. There's all different types of games for Wii. Some are more classic like regular video games, some are more active specific to Wii. Good luck!

  2. it comes with everything you need but if you plat with 2 people you will need a nun truck

  3. Well if you're getting him a Racing game those remote/steering wheel deals are great.  But my little brother got a Wii for his 7th birthday and he has been fine without any accessories.  The only thing that might count is that he syncs his DS with his Wii all the time...

But he just uses the Wii Remote and the thing that connects to it.

  4. I recommed eb playground. You play dodgeball, paper planes, collect marbles and so on. He'll love that game. I know I do. I play one game of dodgeball a day just for fun. Good luck.

  5. It sounds to me that your son would be the kind of person who would like racing-type games.I would recommend the new Mario Kart game for wii. It comes with a steering wheel and has a very high satisfaction rating. It costs about $50 (US) and is a great game. It is rated E (ERSB rating). I think he would really like it.

  6. souns like your son likes racing games so get Mario kart wii for the wii. He will love that game.

  7. nunchuck

    wii whell

    gun controller

    wrist strap

    wii-mote protector

  8. you need 1 Nunchuck and 1 Remote so two players can play... games... and GUITAR HERO!!

  9. The wii will come with wii sports which is a basic but fun sports compilation.

This pack will also include 1 X wii remote and 1 X nunchuck (required for the boxing).

If you also buy the Wii Play game, it will include an additional wii remote. Its a very cost effective way of getting an additional wii remote so that you can play 2 player games.

If you want your son and husband want to play against each other at the Wii boxing, you will definitely have to buy an additional wii nunchuck.

Other than this you don't really need any further wii accessories. There are options of buying a steering wheel, and the sports games accessories (a tennis raquet, golf club etc), but these are just bits of plastic that the wii remote clips into, and so aren't essential for playing the actual game, although they can enhance the game experience.

The wii fit board (and game) are another good add on, that do provide additional games, and make gaming fun and they would also improve your son and husband's level of fitness. However, they are difficult to find.

I got mine from ebay and had to pay £30 more than the wii fit board is being sold in the shops, but that's because I'm impatient and couldn't be bothered ringing all of the game shops and electronic stores on a daily basis to see if they had a wii fit in!

  10. The wii comes with the game Wii Sports, 1 remote, 1 nunchuck and all the necessary cables and the sensor bar.

Well any racing game will be good with the the wii wheel and a bundle of a wheel with the remote sounds really nice. It is nice to have 2 controllers at least for multilayer.

There are many games that are good for 6-13 year olds so getting a wii will be perfect for him. There are many E rated games to.

Just remember the the wheel itself is not necessary to play racing games. It is just a luxury. It is basically a plastic shell that makes the racing games more fun but it is not at all a necessity.

    Sometimes people forget that.

I don't know if you were asking for other games you could buy your son but I will give you some anyway.

Super smash brothers brawl is rated T for teen but there are no adult themes or anything like that, not even blood. I don't know if you are familiar with the Super Smash Bros. Franchise but it is about all of Nintendo's characters in a fighting game.

It is a great game with loads of content, you may not be into it so much but I know that any guy will love it.

The least you can do is look into.

Another great tittle is Super Mario Galaxy. Once again, it has loads of content, rated E and is a lot of fun. It is a typical Mario game where you go through the levels and collect stars to defeat bowser.

  11. When I bought a Wii for my family, I just bought Wii Play(it comes with a remote) and a nunchuck controller. My kids love Mario Kart, Mario Party and Playground. They are easy to play and family friendly. Mario Kart comes with a wheel for the controller and it makes it easy to steer. And if you're husband is like me, I've been buying the classic games on the virtual console that's on the system. All you need for that is a wireless internet connection and Wii Points(you can buy 2000 point cards at Wal-Mart for $20). They have almost every game from all of the Nintendo and Sega systems and range anywhere from 500 points for the older games to 1000 points for the newer games.
