  1. Lots of places. Are you interested in history, food, culture, food, music, food, oh, did I mention the cuisine, you know, the food? I spent about 3 years in Bella Napoli. There are many sites to visit. I can't remember the name of the place but it is off the Domiziana, a small arena actually older than the Coliseum in Rome. It is in Pozzuoli. And almost anywhere that is not in the tourist guides is really a good place to eat.  Watch for the Coperto.

  2. PIZZERIA TRIANON!  The best pizza in the whole entire world!  It's the ONLY good thing in Naples!

Outside of Naples, it's worth a trip to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Sorrento and Paestum (the first two can be done together as a day trip, the second two each take a day).

  3. Hello, just a short list of some places that will be interesting to visit:

National Archaeological Museum (Museo Archeologico Nazionale).

This museum has all of the interesting finds from Pompeii and Herculaneum, both doomed cities after the violent eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD.

    Mount Vesuvius.

The only active volcano on the mainland of Europe, Mount Vesuvius is famous for the calamitous eruption in 79AD, which buried the towns of Herculaneum and Pompeii.

    Cappella Sansevero.

Built in the late 1500s, this gem of Italian artistic heritage was greatly influenced by the famous Raimondo de Sangro VII, Prince of Sansevero, a genius of science and invention.

Certosa di San Martino and Museo dell'Opera.

Founded in the 14th century as a Carthusian monastery, this museum contains a ceiling painting of the "Ascension" by Lanfranco and the ceiling fresco of the "Triumph of Judith" (1704) by Luca Giordano.

    New Castle (Castel Nuovo).

Museum & Gallery of Capodimonte (Museo e Gallerie Nazionali di Capodimonte).

This 18th-century museum houses magnificent collections from such renowned artists as Masaccio, Titian, Raphael, El Greco and Bruegel, including the immense Farnese collection.

    Santa Chiara.

Built between 1310 and 1328, this church was built by architect Gagliardo Primario in a provincial gothic style.

... and many more attractions... it's a beautiful city.

    Enjoy!

  4. The archaeological museum

The restaurants by the 'egg castle'

The central train station when you are leaving Naples

Sorry, I'm not a big fan of Naples, so leaving was one of the highlights.

  5. I'd say see Ercolano (Herculaneum) before you visit Pompeii.  It will give you a better idea of what the city looked like. Ercolano is more intact because it was buried by the mudslide from the Vesuvian explosion.  The Duomo and Sorrento are nice and if you have time take a drive up, or down (depending where you start from) the Amalfi coast.  Obviously don't be overly flashy, but that goes without saying anywhere...a little common sense goes a long way.  Food, food, food...it's all good!  However, pizza is a must in Napoli. It's quick, inexpensive and the best on the planet.  I know it's not summer, but have a Gelato at La Scimmia (the monkey).  It's downtown and very old.  (*On the downside, I can tell you one place to stay away from Secondigliano (not far from the airport). If you do take a taxi anywhere, please negotiate the price up front.  There can be some rather shifty characters in town.  I lived in Naples for 4 years and loved it.  But, I loved all of Italy.  Just enjoy yourself and your experience.  Buona Fortuna!

  6. It's difficult to answer yr question since Naples has thousands of "best places". However my suggestion when you'll be there is to book a tourist trip by bus. It's probably too quick but this will give you a rough idea of what you consider interesting and in the following ,depending on how long will be yr staying over there, you may deeper visit it again. To move there I suggest you to take a bus or when possible walk the city. Don't take taxis since in Italy they're ugly expensive (mainly for foreigners ...)!!

Just follow my last recommendations: don't wear costly garments, expensive swatches and jewelery in general; don't carry with you too many dollars or euros and keep them in yr pocket (no handbags or similar).Use Visa or other credit cards since almost all of them are welcome wherever.

However I'm giving you a link in English with whatever info you should need for. Her is

    http://www.napoli.com/english/

and enjoy yr next staying in Naples.
