Can anyone tell me a nice place to live in the uk besides london?

Question

like, maybe someplace close to london, except cheaper. since i would be coming from the states, it would probably cost me my soul to live there, so any place cheaper and somewhere where i wont get stabbed in the face would be cool haha. any information would be greatly appreciated :]

quaint Little place west of London called  Wallingford. its on the river Thames, i would think you would like it there   for a week or 2

Well i can help you there. I live in Lincolnshire in england, and it is wonderftul. There is everything you could think of and all the locals are all really nice. hope i helped a little :)

It depends on what sort of work you want to do, if you want to be near London for work?

Brighton is on the coast and has good rail links to London. You can get to central London in about 40 minutes on the overland train. It's a great city, on the beach, a real party town too.

Bristol is also nice city, but you would want to get work there and not travel into London as it's probably too far.

Then there are cities up north in Scotland - Edinburgh is a beautiful place, lots of work and really great fun.
