Can anyone tell me anything about the 7-year cycles that women supposedly go through? My aunt said something to me about this the other day. I was shedding more hair than normal, and she said since I was turning 28 soon, I was ending a 7 year cycle. Anyone know anything about that?

  1. I am not sure what she means, that is a strange one! It most be some sort of cultural thing to depict our stages of life!

  2. I've heard of this before, but whether it's true or not I have no idea.

Supposedly it takes seven years for all the cells in the body to completely replace themselves.  It's not done all at once, but gradually.

Your aunt has it wrong.  We're not reptiles, shedding our skins every seven years as out bodies get bigger.  If you're concerned about your shedding hair, see a doctor.

  3. This is some sort of pop-psychology driven notion.  There's no medical validity to this whatsoever.
