You will love Cape Town! Telling you about all the great things to do and see would fill a book so I will send you to some links instead. Starting with

Do you golf? If you do there are no better, more fun , challenging and interesting courses than those in South Africa. Just in case you do, here's a link to get you started

The Royal Cape - near the bottom of the page - is my personal favourite. Milnerton is also super and the Atlantic Beach - oh! Heck, they are all great!! :o)

Here is a list - the great one I originally had has been taken down.

The Cape Town Observatory – take an historical tour of the old observatory – the new, improved one is now in Sutherland which houses the biggest scope in the southern hemisphere. But if you go to the one in Cape Town on a day when the skies are clear, you an still get a view of the southern skies – quite different and a teat for those hailing from the northern hemisphere.

The shopping is a foreigner's delight. Start at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront but once you are away from there - keep your eyes open - good shopping experiences are everywhere - and you get things that are not 'made in china' in most places. But check the origins in any case just to be safe. Finding out one of your treasures is not South African AFTER you get home is a big drag!

Cape Town is a jazz capital so if you are going out and you like jazz - lots of good jazz to be found here.

There is good theatre, good opera, good ballet etc in Cape Town. There are fabulous beaches!

Like flowers - then you gotta do the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

    You can't miss Table Mountain!

That scratches the surface for you.

    Things not to do:

South Africa has a large population of poor people so

Do not go out alone at night.

    Do not flash your money,

    do not pick up hitchhikers.

Do not do any of the things you would not do at home if they are considered dangerous at home. There have been some problems due to the influx of refuges so until those things become resolved, best to check with a local in the know as to the safety before you go anywhere off the list above.
