I am leaving on Nov. 4th, I am so excited but I just don't know what to expect. My dad went there in 1970, so quite a while ago but he has been trying to tell me what he remembers. But I want to know especially about like females in the Air Force and what I should know before I leave - like I know I should know ranks but what else? My job is integrated avionics if that makes any difference.

  1. Well first off it is not called Boot Camp, it's called BCT, Basic Combat Training. Since you leave in november you have plenty of time to prepare physically and mentally. You will also be one of the first to go through the extended BCT which starting in november is 8 weeks long (from the previous 6 week BCT) your recruiter will inform you what you need to know. Ranks are a big one, stop snacking on foods I had trouble breaking that habbit, prepare yourself mentally and physically and study customs. Good luck, everything will work out unless youre a moron or something health wise goes wrong. Just keep your head on your shoulders and do what youre told.
