Can anyone tell me about a cruise liner called "The World"?

Is it true that people live aboard it and just cruise around the world, going where they want to, when they want to?

I have a relative who is the captain of the world, though I have never been on it myself. You buy a condo like cabin on the world for a one year lease. The prices start at over 1 million dollars. You can have your condo decorated the way you want even with some of your own stuff. The world does travel around the world and spends more time in one places then a regular cruise ship. They also try to arrange to be in a certain port during festivals and such like the October fest in Munich. I believe they do have a few rooms on the ship for guests and short time cruisers too. it is the ultimate life style for full time cruising.

probably so. Most cruise lines have a package where you are able to live on it. It is very expensive though, and you have to go through customs just like everybody else when re-entering U.S territory. I am not sure though if they have to take their luggage off and on like everybody else, but they are treated just like everyone else.

-get to go see the shows, etc..

So the answer to your question would be yes, people do live on cruise ships.

I looked into it and per night it is $1,500-$4,500 and to buy a studio its 1.1 million and an apartment 2 bd 2 bath is about 3.5 million. At least now I know what to do when I win the lotto. lol.
