Can anyone tell me about anything about these UK Universities (International student)?

Im from Asia, and thus i find it really important to be comfortable in UK Universities(not like i can fly back instantly if i have problems!). Im applying for a course in Geology and went for:

Liverpool University (not moores)

Royal Holloway, London

Birmingham Uni

Leicester Uni

Leeds Uni

Any information about international students there and general living would be great! I hear so many horror stories of racism, guns and dont know what to think anymore.
