Can anyone tell me about local services in protaras, cyprus.i.e local banks, shops, restaurants and clubs etc?

Protaras is a great resort; everything you need all in one place!! Most of the hotels are situated along the shoreline of Fig Tree Bay, and Flamingo Bay, really nice, clean sandy beaches, with plenty of watersports on hand, and all are just a short walk from a good selection of shops ( everything from supermarkets, gift shops, jewellers, to shoe shops, opticians etc) A good selection of bars; Rockafellers, Only Fools and Horses, etc, many with live entertainment. And some very good restaurants too; try The Olympus, Il Basilica, Island Affair, Cafe Parko, as well as the usual Mc Donalds, Pizza Hut etc, just to name a few. There are plenty of banks,and exchange kiosks. Worth remembering that banks are only open from 8.30.am to 12.30.pm here,  but you will easily find ATM machines. There is also plenty of car hire companies along this stretch

There is a fairly regular bus service that runs through Protaras, and plenty of taxis on hand.

There is only really one club in Protaras ( The Sfinx) but, from Protaras, it is only a short drive, or taxi ride into Agia Napa with its own selection of clubs, bars and restaurants. Its not all lager louts and booze cruises...there are some very nice beaches, and some very good restaurants and bars. Napa also has Europes largest waterpark.

Incidentally, if you wear spectacles, eye tests are free here, and designer frames are about £100 cheaper than in the U.K.

Protaras is a really nice, safe, friendly resort, Im sure you would love it!

I live in Xylofagou, about 15 minutes drive away!

yes you will find all of those  things there they are quite a modern out post, as well as a very nice beach to lounge on during the day

Protaras has all the local services, banks cash points nice bars and clubs, restaurants to suite one and all and most important a McDonalds so you know your still in civilisation lol.

great beach bars aren't too expensive,all in all a really nice resort and of course the weather is great.

hire a car and take a look around the island you wont regret it and driving is nice and easy on the left.
