  1. Elders are very revered. After death, it's customary for the head to be removed, and for the skull to be cleaned and prominently placed in the family's home for worship.

  2. Malaysian culture is a mix of a bunch of different cultures--Malay, Chinese, Indian, and a couple other native tribes (the Indian and Chinese are mixed in there because, a really long time ago, they were Malaysia's major partners in trade)....Mostly, it's based on the traditional Malay culture.

    --Marriage ceremonies/other ceremonies and festivals:

In the Malay wedding cermony, there are some elements of the Hindu culture of southern India: the bridge and groom dress in specific and beautiful fabrics and feed each other yellow rice. They also paint their hands with henna (a dye). Muslims have adopted the Chinese custom of giving red packets of money at festivals, and the packets given on Muslim holidays are green and have Arab writing on them.

    --General:

People rarely marry outside their own ethnicity groups, and people usually socialize within their own ethnic groups...however, people go to school with other ethnic groups, and usually work with other groups at the same jobs.

    --Family:

The family is really important. There's a lot of emphasis on loyalty, respect, and love of your elders.
