  1. Christ the Redeemer

The statue stands 39.6 metres (130 feet) tall, weighs 700 tons, and is located at the peak of the 700-m (2296-foot) Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking the city.

A symbol of Christianity, the statue has become an icon of Rio and Brazil.

  2. I guess you;re asking about the statue of Christ the Redeemer, one of the new 7 wonders of the world (whether you agree or not!) Google it and you'll find who built it, when, why and how. The view is amazing although I think the best view of Rio is from the sugar loaf.

  3. It is the Christ the Redeemer (portuguese Christo Redentor). The statue has its arms wide opened as he is embracing the city of Rio de Janeiro - that's what it means.

The view of Rio from up there it is unbeliavable!

  4. I think its christ
