  1. Pomaretto is a tiny little town of around a thousand people - about 60 kms from Turin. There is not a lot in Pomaretto really and to explore the surrouding area you really need a car.  There are however some great places to explore in the region. The Sacra di San Michele is one of the best places around, I live nearby and wrote an article about it and the surrounding areas which may be of use - http://www.my-italy-piedmont-marche-and-...

  2. Here is a place to stay

The site has a lot of information.

  3. I used to live in Turin and I've never heard of Pomaretto.  It can't be of much touristic value!  The town's website offers an "Touristic Itinerary" below... a quick scan reveals there to be a small military museum, a hill with views of the city and a statue.  I'm overwhelmed with excitement!  There isn't a train station so you'd have to take the bus... but I can't find a bus schedule.  Bouchard and Sapav both service the town, but I don't know the connecting cities.

It looks like Pomaretto is close to Fenestrelle Fortress, which is the second-largest man-made structure after the Great Wall of China.  That is one place that I would LOVE to visit.  There are four thousand steps scaling a mountain with small forts along the way and beautiful views.

I suspect that you'd best get a rental car for this area, as otherwise you could be at the mercy of twice-daily busses.
