  1. Conures scream a lot very loudly all day. Can you stand that? Can your family and neighbors stand that? They are expensive, hundreds of dollars. Do you have hundreds of dollars to spend on a bird that screams all the time? They live more than 20 years. Can you stand the thought of having a bird screaming at you for more than 20 years?

  2. The correct name is, conure (pronounced, cón-yer).  They make great pets.  In size, they would either be a large parakeet or a small parrot. They have many different color varieties.  All living species are found in the wild in Central to South America.  Rather than just spout off a bunch more copied-down facts, I'll hook you up directly with the source...

  3. u also dunno how to spell cost, personality i think u dont wanna say those other questions because ur spelling is so good

  4. The bird is a conure and if you go to this website, it will answer a lot of your questions and show you some pictures.

An important fact: do not buy your bird--or any animal--from a pet store. Purchase them only from a respectable breeder. WIth birds, in particular, hand-raising is important or they're not likely to bond with their humans.

Another important consideration: members of the parrot family (such as the conure) are very intelligent birds and need a lot of attention and interaction. They also live a long time and can cost quite a bit of money. Taking a parrot of any kind into your family is not something to be undertaken lightly.

  5. i have a sun conure and she is orange, green, red, blue and yellow (beautiful) she cost me $200 and she is a very cuddly bird. wen i wear hoodies she will fall asleep in the pocket. the only problem is she wont go near anyone else but me. conures are very social birds and require alot of attention. she is full grown at 8 inches from head to tip of tail. she can be very loud but usually its because she wants something(food, sleep, attention) they arent known for talking but mine will mimic me. if i start bobbin my head she will too. feel free to email me if you hav any more questions hcr13029@yahoo.com

  6. ^alex doesnt even make sense. he cant even spell 'don't know' and also 'personally'. Idiotic little t**t.

  7. Yes they can kind of talk, but they don't know what they are saying, but I heard that at a restaurant an employee is def and uses a bird who asks the customer what kind of items they want on their sandwich and the bird sits on her shoulder and tells the girl in bird language , somehow she can understand or hear that, what the customer wants on the sandwich, this could be a rumor but it sounds entirely possible, you should definitely get a bird, but if the bird does not seem happy, you should not cage it like a prisoner, because it's real home in the wild might make it much happier.

  8. oooo yeah they are great birds to have as pets. they cost around 300$  to 400$ thay can talk :) they are really funny and they like to hang on your sholder.  they dont get that big maybe size of a cockateil.  tey come in green, orange, reddish color. they can learn how to talk but not as much as budgies :0 Hope you thinkin about gettin one if yeah then good luck you will now regreat it i promise :)

  11. I have a green cheek conure, which I love to death. When I was looking at getting a bird, there were a few things that I knew we had to get in a bird in order for it to be good for us. First of all, I live in a condo, so the bird could not be constantly screaming and yelling or being loud. The larger conures, can be loud, or so we have read. The green cheek is one of the small of the conures, but is absolutely beautiful. He is a lovely color green, with bright turquoise blue on the ends of his wings, and a vibrant red tail. Secondly, I am asthmatic, so I could not get a

bird that produces dust like a cockatoo. I really wanted to get a puppy, that I could love and care for and just plain baby, so thirdly I did not want a bird that would simply sit in his cage and not want to be anywhere but. We got our conure from a Breeder in British Columbia which cost us about $250, this compared to the conures in a pet store that were going for about $500-$600. We did look at the conures at the pet store, which were "Pearl conures" however we were taken back by how much they bit at you. Our green cheek baby was hand raised from his hatch so he hardly bit from the start. He did nip, and it did hurt, but we were persistent at making sure we told him no and gave him a weightless feeling and he soon corrected his behavior. They are extremely smart birds, ours knows so many things already, like what a grape looks like from about half way across the room. Green cheeks are known for being very affectionate and I will vouch for it. They can learn to talk, but I've read that it usually isnt until they are about 9 months to a year old, and when they do talk they don't have a huge voice like larger birds (like African grays) do. So far my green cheek has not been a one person bird. He likes to spend time with and sit on my boyfriend and I equally. One disadvantage I have seen in my conure, is that he is rather stubborn at times. But with that comes the advantages of him being very smart. Conures do take quite a bit of space, and time, so that might be considered a disadvantage as well. I have many areas around my house set up specially for my conure. He definitely is not a bird that I could leave in the cage all day alone and expect he would be already. He loves to be with his people. I take mine everywhere with me in the summer that I possibly can. I hope this helps even a little bit.
