  1. Well it's really nice here. Like the first person said there are a lot of Asians here, which is fine except for when you're trying to order a pizza and you ask for sun-dried tomatoes and the guy has no clue what they are because he doesn't speak English. That happens to me all the time. It's ******* annoying.

There are lots of bums too. Homelessness downtown is kind of a problem. And apparently we're really screwed when the "big one" hits, meaning the earthquake that's building up somewhere.

But it's great here :) I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

  2. Vancouver like most big cities  have bad areas. In vancouver its the east side. Gas is all most $ 6.00 a gallon Get a bus pass  ( tax deductable}  Its cheaper to live in the suburbs. We live in South Burnaby  Near Metrotown  Mall   ( 500 stores)  Medicare for every one  Hospital is free. Go to tourismvancouver  and hellobc .. If you like the  out doors pack your bags pronto

  3. High cost of real estate... The city basically is like only second to LA in real estate costs in North America.

  4. There's a lot of Canadians there. I always say, Canada would be totally sweet without all the Canadians.

But seriously, Vancouver is pretty sweet. Lots of Asians up there, I hope you like Asians.

  5. Real estate prices are through the roof.

I also had some unpleasant experiences with the (anglo) people who live there. Some of that could have been a coincidence, but I've been told they don't like people from other Canadian provinces. You probably won't experience any of this hostility because you're American.

  6. No one by the name of kim there

  7. The first poster is an **** and obviously not Canadian.  It rains quite a bit, but when it does not, it is amazingly beautiful.  The mountains to the north and the beaches to the south.  It rarely snows in places like White Rock and South Surrey.  There are great places to shop and the city is very diverse.  There is a section of downtown where all, and I mean all, of the homeless people live, so that would be the only area to avoid in order to keep a good view of the city of Vancouver.  You can read up on the city if you search for Vancouver on Wikipedia's website.

A really bad thing.... it is horrifically expensive.  More so than New York city if you can imagine that!

  8. s****. people, terrible traffic, high cost of living, rains all the time... it's a nice city though, in other ways. It's beautiful. Personally I don't think it's the best place in Canada to live, but that's my opinion.
