Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get an answer about visas?

how long does it take before you get an answer on your visa , if you are able to travel to the US, from Jordan..also if you travel to the U S , are you allowed to pick your stay time here..and will that call for another type of visa instead of the B2 ??

An applicant will be told on the day of their interview weather their visa application as been successful, denied or if it requires additional processing.

If it as been successful then the consular officer will retain the applicants passport they and can expect to have it returned to them, along with the visa inside within 3 weeks.

If they are told their applications requires additional processing then this can take days, weeks or months for a decision about their case to be made.

If denied, the applicant would need to start a new visa application.

Regarding travel times, the visa holder can depart their country on any date they wish but obviously before their visa expires. The length of their stay however will be determined by a CBP officer at their port of entry upon arrival, their authorized period of stay will be noted on the visitors I-94 and this is the date which they must depart the U.S. by. The CBP officer as sole jurisdiction upon the length of stay.

It takes about 3 weeks to 2 months depending on whether you have already completed your medical examination.

Place of stay? You must report before hand where you will be staying and when you will be returning

The day they interview you.. Your visa is approved or they'll say " Administrative review"(which is taking  weeks or months) or Sorry,I'm not satisfied with your reason which is means you're DENIED.
