Just wondering how much it costs to send a child to Nursery as I think this is the most cost efficient childcare?

Thanks in advance!

  1. A private nursery is usually the most expensive form of childcare. Nursery schools for 3 & 4 year olds are usually free and are run by the local authority. Playgroups are cheaper but usually only offer short sessions & you may be asked to help out at a session per term. Childminders are cheaper than nurseries and offer home-based care with smaller numbers of children.

The Daycare Trust (http://www.daycaretrust.org.uk/) campaigns for affordable childcare and their website has loads of information about forms of childcare.

  2. http://www.childcarelink.gov.uk/index.as... This website may be able to give you a better idea of the prices in your area.

I think it depends on if you want day nursery, sessional care or whether u mean a Nursery School but either way the website should be able to help.

  3. It depends where you live and how old the child is

I work in a preschool and have for 6 years a fee differant ones and there is a major price diffaence and the care is differant.

In a small daycare in a small town  a weekly rate is

    150 fir  infants

    125  for ones

    90 for two

    80 fir threes

    75 for four and fives

    65 for after schoolers

    IN a bis city

    the prices are

    250 for infants

    200 for ones

    175 for twos

    125 for threes

    100 for fours and fives

A daily rate is usallye between 35-50. Isnt it weird how much they cahgre and only  pay there teacher like7 an hour
