  1. Asprin is a dangerous drug. It can cause some rather nasty things to happen to your stomach lining. It's not somethng that should be taken "just in case".

    Unless your GP perscribes otherwise:

    Don't ever take more than two at a time and never take a dose at intervals closer than 4 hours.

    Do not take them for more than two days.

    To prevent DVT on your flight you should take standard precautions:

    Keep your shoes on;

    Wear snug or tight socks or tights;

    Regularly rotate your ankles and take walks or stretch leg exercises;

    Don't let the front edge of the seat compress the bottom of your thighs if possible.

  2. only half a tablet, and make sure you take it after you've eaten some food, as it can cause stomach ulcers. you only need to take it before you get on the flight. during the flight get up and walk around, and when sitting keep your legs elevated and uncrossed to also prevent dvt.

  3. Do not take any before a flight, it is potentially harmful and does no good

  4. Just take the normal doseage.

    They don't have different doseages for people who are flying.

  5. People over a certain age, or who smoke and are overweight are advised to take 75m aday. Thats a quarter of a tablet.

  6. Honestly the best person to ask is your GP, he will give you all the correct advice you need, have a good trip.

  7. Don't rely on 'answers' to tell you. Many answers here are personal opinion and not fact. As aspirin is a dangerous drug to use you'd be much safer asking your doctor.

    If it was invented today aspirin would be a "prescription only" drug, as it can easily lead to internal bleeding and death. Therefore please only take professional advice.

  8. Normal dosage: why should flying change the dose you take?!

    Incidentally, as aspirin tends to prevent blood clotting, it's actually quite a good idea to take aspirin before a long haul flight.
