Can anyone tell me how old is my gun

i have an cva plainsman black powder rifle how can i tell how old it is.

Your flintlock is still in current production.  If you post the serial number, then we will be able to give you an exact date, but I would not expect it to be more than 15 years old.

It looks like the retail of a new one is $160 - with most going for $140.

look for a serial # the last 2 # usualy is the yr made,
