Can anyone tell me how to change a regular hard bait into a homemade swimbait?

It is to hard to find a swimbait in the store for less than $15.

  1. If it were me I would question the amount of time I'd have to spend modifying the lure versus how much I can make during that time frame. I think you will find that it is not worth the time and effort.


  2. With all of the new plastics out these days, swimbaits are alot easier to rig up these days and are also a lot cheaper than 10-12 years ago.

    There are dozens of companies that produce these baits, here are some good ones for you to take a look at.....................................


  3. Actually Berkley makes a swimbait called a hollow belly swimbait or something like that. It comes with weighted hooks and 3 swimbaits for around 10 dollars. You can find them at bassproshops.com or berkely-fishing.com and may also be found in a baitshop.  Hope this helps
