A little kid told me this:

If instead of paying taxes,every person in the highest income slab can adopt 10 poor families and ensure that their standard of living is raised and that that they are self sustainable....it would be more beneficial than the govt providing crazy amount of subsidies...which don't even reach the affected.

I don't know if this is feasible but it is a beautiful thought.

I think fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship in rural India and giving more direction to the unorganized sector is very important.

They need to know how to fend for themselves.

Education is the only solution.govt.has to spend more money for primary and secondary education.If all are educated,nobody will be become begger and population will become a knowledge society. when knowledge comes no more poverty.
