I have JVC GR-AXM and i have some HILAROUS tapes of my son (he's autistic) singing and dancing (to songs like Fergie's "Big GIrls Dont Cry"!!! Like i said this is my SON! He literally knows every word and every move these artists make in their videos and i have to get this on YouTube! So all i have now is the camera itself, the AC Adapater, and The A/V Cable. I am hopin a "techie" out there can help me out! Please explain it simply, remember i am pretty much clueless about this stuff! Thanks, i will really appreciate it!

  1. If you have a mini dv (cassette) camcorder….

Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download video, your PC probably did not come with a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, since most computers (except possibly brand new) don't come with a firewire port, your camcorder did not come with a firewire cord so you have to purchase a cord too. Your camcorder did come with a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder.

  2. All you need to do is connect it to your computer via a USB cable and the computer should walk you through the process. Good luck!

  3. With some, you have to have a FireWire connection.  Older computers don't have them.  You have to buy the card and get someone to install it.
