I want to put either colored glass or broken mirror on it, how do I get it to stick and would I have to put something over it to keep it outside?

  1. You can use either colored or broken glass. You will need little pieces so that they will conform to the shape of the ball.  You can use mirror mastic to adhere broken mirror and Locktite for colored glass.  Locktite will give you a fast grab and adheres non-pourus to non-pourous surfaces (other adhesives like Plumber's goop will also work).  I don't know how Locktite would work on the silver baking of mirror over time, however, whereas mirror mastic is made for that purpose.  You may run into trouble trying to grout either medium onto the bowling ball because grout is not formulated to stick to slick surfaces.  So you may want to just use butt joints between pieces.  Also, nothing would really stick on the surfaces of the mirror or glass to weather proof it.

  2. Sand your ball with 50 grit paper, apply generous amounts of all weather liquid nails to the back of the mirror fragments and adhere them to your ball. After several days of curing use a tile grout to fill in the in between voids and rub your ball after with a damp cloth- you will now have the ball of your dreams.
