It all depends what you are looking for.  The place is nice, clean and even cute and the area is very diverse.  You won't find the huge hotels there. There are many guest houses, surfers, some boutiques, etc.  Personally I think it's a happy medium.  You get a good experience of the island life without being intimidated (you will find many English speaking people around here too). Have fun!
