Can anyone tell me if a 7mm-08 is a good hunting rifle?

i live in northwest pa, this is my first time hunting i heard that 7mm-08s are very good first time rifles..but i would like to know from other hunters..also if anyone knows some prices on rifles.. thank you

I love the caliber- ballistics similar to a 270, has light recoil and is great for deer sized game- My next rifle will be a 7mm-o8.Prices will vary greatly between gun manufacturers.

Yes they are, but you are asking about a caliber rather than the rifle itself.  The 7mm-08 is a great hunting round for deer size game.

7mm-08 is a great deer round - nearly perfect, I think.  In a 7+ lb. rifle it is light recoiling and accurate.  The cartridge is a .308 Win. necked down to .284.  Find a rifle that fits you well, practice, and you'll have venison in the pot.

Any 7mm (.284) cal gun is a good round with a high ballistic coefficiency and the 7mm-08 which is based on the .308 that is necked down to .284 doesn't kick to bad and is quite accurate . good luck

It's a good rifle caliber. Accurate, shoots flat, powerful enough for most game and the cartridges are easy to reload. There's also a huge variety of factory made ammo available.

It's a good choice. Prices can vary widely.
