Can anyone tell me if a soyo t. v. is worth buying?

i heard of that brand - dont have experince with it - where would you be buying this TV - ? if you can get it in a big chain store - that offer 30 day return or exchange etc.  maybe you can buy it and see if you like it first -  but usually those unknown brands usually have bad customer service - Brand names have bad service - imagine those over see brands - i wounldnt say they are that bad - they made LCD's for computers for years -

you have to decide a few things - one is price - how much less will you really save - then add in extended warranty - and i would get one with that brand to be sure - and then what excatly does this cover - will they come in your home to fix it- or do you have to ship it back and you pay the shipping - you have to get the details - or else you may regret it if in the future something goes wrong -  then if you decide you like it - you can check for reviews on that model - online - see if you can find any positive ones -  then it depends how picky a person you are with picture quality - usually those brands dont have a high contrast ratio - which means - the blacks wont look that black - and the back light can bleed thru and affect the picture - and you really cant tell in the day time

you have to watch it at night - dark room - watch movies

my first TV was a Philips 4 years ago - didnt know much - specs looked good - price was good - and brand isnt that bad - but this TV was -  Picture was nice - but the contrast was bad - blacks weren't dark and light shined from the Back light and very noticeable in a dark room - i returned it and got another brand -  

prices have come down alot and Quality is up - if you can spend a little more - this model is very nice and not too much

Samsung A550 - its not the top of the line but not the bottom either - looks very nice - Picture is very nice and price for a 46 inch is about $1,500  --  which is great i think for that size -

I wouldn't!  I've never even heard of that brand.  Go on Amazon.com and look it up.  THere are user ratings on there that will tell you if people liked it or hated it and what was wrong with it.  Use your best judgement from there.

Rule of thumb, if you've never heard of it, chances are it's a dud. I've never heard of this brand and i'm an electronics Geek. I would stay away, save a little more and get a well reputable brand named tv. You'll be a lot happier in the end.
