Light corn syrup is pretty much sugar and water you can make it that way (find a recipe online) but not Maple syrup thats a totally different thing

Light syrup has less calories and less sugar than regular syrup.

Light corn syrup means the clear corn syrup.  Syrup  could mean pancake syrup.

light CORN syrup and syrup are not the same thing...

syrup is more like maple syrup for pancakes

light corn syrup is corn syrup that is clear...as opposed to dark corn syrup which is corn syrup that is dark brown...

they have nothing to do with one another and cannot be used interchangably in recipes

pecan pie uses corn syrup....you can never use syrup instead...

in addition you wouldn't want corn syrup on your pancakes.
