Can anyone tell me if this ceiling tile contains asbests? (see details for link)?

Is anyone familiar enough with asbestos to know if this ceiling tile contains them:

It is clearly damaged and need to be removed if it does.

  2. No its a fiberglass tile with a decorative covering. Fiberglass is still an irritant though so wear gloves and a mask.

  3. Looks like vinyl over fiberglass backing. Gold Bond made many like this several years ago and was sold at West Building Materials.

    Just use a dust mask and long sleeves and gloves while removing it.

    No, it does Not contain asbestos.

  4. yeah, i agree with scor, this is an insulated 2x4 tile. you have no problem here.
