Question:

Can anyone tell me if this is a shark's tooth and if so what kind it is?

I went to Venice Beach in Florida and found a bunch of sharks teeth. This one looks like it could be an older fossilized tooth but I'm not sure. It carries the right shape and down the center it has a line very similar to the other teeth I found. Please let me know what you think.

  1. It is quite possible that it could be! Fossilized shark teeth are very common as sharks continuously shed teeth, and always have done. Obviously, as they have been around for hundreds of millions of years . . there are quite a few teeth to be found! I personally own a 10 million year old specimen. :)
