Can anyone tell me more about past lives?

I am curious if past lives are really true? If so do I have any past live or just one and what were they or what was I and what happened? Also I have recently met a man at my job about the same age as I am and for some reason he rubs me the wrong way. I hardly know him but its something about his eyes and just him he gives me the creeps!! I look at him and all I can see is a vision of him grabbing my face telling me abusive things and grabbing me in an abusive way. When he looks at me at my job he gives me a look like an abusive father or husband would that watches his daughter or wife very closely its creepy. Can someone tell me if he was in a past life of mine and if so what happened and who was he to me what did he do to me if he did anything at all. I have never felt this about anyone before in my life can someone shed some light on this for me... only people with this kind of experience that are serious about this plz answer thank you

Have you tried past life regression? It may help to find the answers to this question. What you ask is subject to each persons own beliefs. It is very possible you and he were connected in some way in a past life. No way to know for sure.

It sounds like you just don't get along with the guy.  There is no reason to believe these day dreams you've had are in any way based on fact or a past occurrence.  It sounds like you're bringing some baggage into your interpretation of this guy.  Maybe he is abusive or a jerk.  But then, maybe he's a really nice guy and it's all just in your head.

The idea of past lives suggests we have a sort of spirit in us that is distinct.  This spirit has survived many lives and retains the memory of those lives, but only in the subconscious.  The idea is that this subconscious memory bank can be tapped by a guide while under hypnosis.

So far those who practice past life regression (PLR) have been unable to demonstrate this phenomenon is anything more than a product of a guided and suggestive session of hypnosis, planting false memories in the people who undergo such sessions.

None of the PLRs have been able to provide any information not already known by the people.  The descriptions are exactly what the people know of the historical time period, including historical inaccuracies.  Some who have had past lives in other countries speak with an accent but are unable to speak the language itself.

In other words, there has been nothing learned from PLR that can't be invented (consciously or subconsciously) by those who undergo the procedure.  Even if past lives did exist, do you realize what the odds are that you would have crossed paths with this person previously?

Usually if you have a bad past life with somebody, it will come back in this life as a strong attraction (often overwhealming love).  That's to heal the karma.

Ever been with someone who you thought was everything you dreamt about and turned into your worst nightmare?  then that was probably a bad past life connection.  

The issue you have with this person at work could just be someone that is negative for you in this life?

Other issues aside I wonder what the odds would be.

Say reincarnation was real and you could die at any time in any country and be reincarnated maybe ten or a hundred or a thousand years later in any part of the world.....

.... what would the chances be of being reincarnated with some nerdy prick  that you abhorred?

Sorry, no, just a comment. In my pre-Christian days I entertained the thought of re-incarnation, and wondered if I might be the next life of my grandfather, who passed well before I was born. Wishful thinking, as grandpa E deserves his own life, without me making unfoundable claims. The fact that I am his grandson is wholly good enough for me, and all I can expect.

As for this uncomfortable connection with your co-worker, answers like that may well take a visit to Heaven to find out.

It may sound naive, but I like to believe we find all our questions answered at the Library of Heaven, which makes the Library of Congress look like a greeting card stand. Best wishes.

Geez, he does sound creepy.  This probably won't help you since I don't know much about past lives, but I once read that when you get deja vu - it's a flashback of a similar situation you were in, in a past life.  So if you get a sense of deja vu around this guy - maybe he was in your past life.  (just hope he wasn't a psycho killer or something).  Good luck.

Nobody on this forum will be able to tell you about your past lives.  You would need to consult with a licensed regression therapist for that.  But I suggest that if you are interested in past lives, and you don't have much information or background on this topic, read MANY LIVES, MANY MASTERS by Dr. Brian Weiss.  You will get a good idea of what is meant when people refer to "past lives", and how regression therapy works.  It's really exciting stuff, and Dr. Weiss has a really clear way of explaining it.  I've given this book to many of my family and friends, and can't recommend it highly enough.

So while I can't tell you anything about your past lives, it does sound to me like this co-worker of yours is part of your history in some way.  Whenever I meet someone with whom I have a strong reaction (good or bad) I always think it must be someone from my past.
