  1. sorry, don't know where they were, but I know that there were some as there is a Jewish walk around those areas in London for tourists. Try to Google "Jewish London 1900's" and see what happens. Hope you get some answers!

  3. There was a concentration of Jews in Shoreditch and Whitechapel. There is a synagogue on Whitechapel Road midway between Whitechapel and Aldgate East stations and another slightly to the south of it off Commercial Road

    It is said that the origins of Petticoat Lane market is derived from the Jews for whom Sunday was a normal trading day since their Sabbath is Saturday. This market is actually held in Brick Lane (which is, in essence, the street between Shoreditch and Aldgate East stations).
