    Good luck! I think that is a little young for teaching time, if I recall - it is 1st-2nd grade, isn't it? Some of my middle school students only read digital clocks, so I commend you for this!


  2. Teaching time to a kindergartener is not really developmentally appropriate, unless he or she is very gifted. Children need to have a complete understanding of counting and intervals (at least by 5) before learning how to tell time. They should also have a basis in addition and subtraction. Make sure the child has these concepts down before moving on to time.

  3. This is not a developmentally appropriate skill for a kindergartner.  However, if they can count to 12, you can start with the hours and the short hand.  Any more than this would probably be too overwhelming.
