Can anyone tell me some national anecdotes about other nations?

For example, English jokes about Scottish or Irish, or French anecdotes about Belgians, etc.

  1. The Irish, also, are first to come to mind. I think that is because the Irish are very interesting people, anyway, Irish are lucky (yet they had a horrible potato famine), Irish drink and make good policemen (what a combo), French are good cooks (yet it is hard to find a French restaurant in the US).  Mexicans are hard workers (I agree). The US doesn't talk too much about other people because we are all a mixture and you never know what the person you are talking might be. A friend of mine knew a guy that was a Vietnam vet and he said something bad about Asian people and the person he was talking to said, "I'm married to one", so, he doesn't say those things anymore. lol


  2. The Duke of Wellington when his birth in Ireland was denigrated said  "Being born in a stable does not make one a horse" also in reference to his Irish troops "I dont know what effect they will have on the enemy but they scare the h**l out of me"
