  1. Why only language assessments?  Usually a full IQ workup includes a verbal and a performance score.  Also, these scores don't really have "age equivalents" -- it doesn't work like that.

  2. Those look like standard scores. They are below level, usually the normal range is around 100 with a standard deviation of about 15, so the "normal" range would be from 85 to 115.

There is no way to tell you the age equivalent because the scores are based on a comparison to same-age and grade peers. It would be interesting to see the IQ test if any, if this test is normal (around 100) it looks like there is a discrepancy of the scores below 85. But again, it depends. If the child's IQ is 80, there is no discrepancy at all. If the child's IQ is 115, all the scores are discrepant.

Is this a speech evaluation? Or screening for LD?

  3. generally the scores are based on age

    :standard scores (M = 100, SD = 15),

the standard score is 100-each 15 points difference is 1 standard deviation- and indication of impairment/ability  Basically a score of 85-115 is average.  The lower the score the more the impairment.  the higher the score the more intellectually gifted

In addition to the revised definition, a five level classification scheme was introduced replacing the previous three level system which had acquired a very negative connotation. The generic terms of borderline (IQ 67-83), mild (IQ 50-66), moderate (IQ 3-49), severe (16-32), and profound (IQ <16) were adopted.

so scores of 75, 81 would indicate borderline cognitive impairment

85 is onthe border of average/borderline cognitive impaired
