Can anyone tell me the average time to market for a product?

that has been submitted for a patent and has only functional verification prototype testing but detail and safety testing and a detailed marketing plan has yet to be developed?

After being submitted to a company who is enthusiastic about getting product to market.

It depends entirely on the product, as to the market climate.

for instance, someone recently developed a mechanical device that reduced fuel consumption significanly in motor vehicles. This product was immediately embraced by the market as the demand for these types of products is high.

However, a product that has a relatively low demand will require extensive marketing and may actually never achieve a target market.

that depends on the product catagory, whether food, electronics,  vehicle, house appliances or anything, then we do market research & survey, target market, business/marketing plan and then we can count its average time to market.
