Can anyone tell me the discription to the 5th wheel components?

Yes im taking a test tommorrow and was wondering if you knew what

a pintle hook, Apron, platform,tongue/drawbar, is.on a 18 wheeler..

Theres no pictures in the test book to study.

Could you direct me to some pics?

  1. It's when the trailer tongue is it the back of the truck> rather than on the bumper>Or hitch>


  2. a pintle hook is the devise mounted off the rear frame and is a bit like a large hook it works similarly to a tow ball design for a pick up but is much stronger. apron is the side of the 5th wheel where the release arm  etc is attached, , tongue and draw bar are the latching and releasing systems for the 5th wheel. The platform I believe was the portion that the 5th wheel plate is mounted to and pivots on.. this pieci is solidly set to the trucks frame either stationary or slidable.

    a PINTLE HOOK

    dont know where ur taking this test ,,,  but I hope ya never have ta try ta order parts to repair one with the list of parts you are describing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
