I am certain it was a centipede about two inches long, light green, with a red tail. I live in west Texas and had no luck trying to find out what this is. I have never seen this type of centipede. Is it poisonous?

  2. All centipedes are venomous much as spiders are, how the venom is delivered greatly differs from spiders though, in place of the two fang like madibles spiders have they usually have a single small mandible bent in the opposite direction of a traditional "fang".  Most small species do not have the strength to bite or cause problems but a few larger species can leave painfull welts and A select few more common in tropical regions are dangerous.

  3. If in doubt, don't touch it or eat it. (idk who w0uld eat it, but that's up to you) lol =)

    I think it's a...

    house centipede:

    Order: Scutigeromorpha

    Family: Scutigeridae

    Genus: Allothereua

    Species: maculata

and I don't think it's poisonous... (when in doubt)
