  1. whats that?

  2. you can cook corn?

  3. Pro: Cheaper and more efficient to heat your home.

Cons: The cleaning of the stove sucks as the residue from the corn pellets is like a greasy sticky coating that is a pain to scrub or clean off...and the stove will HAVE to be cleaned regularly.

  4. It's safer and cleaner than burning wood, more efficient. Better for the environment. And the corn inserts are apparently much cheaper than the alternatives.  However, for every stove you decide to put in your home, you have to install a separate, special chimney.

  5. low energy content for their volume so it takes a lot of corn cobs to get much heat.

    .

once we start using the ethanol from cellulose process corn cobs will be used to make fuel so they wont be a byproduct.

pro-they burn pretty hot & clean, not much ash.

  6. Pros: A corn stove uses a corncob pipe.

Cons: You get a lot of popcorn.

  7. when you heat it, it popps

  8. Depending on where you live, you could get the corn for very cheap (even free if you live in a place like I do) or it could be very expensive. If you set it up yourself, it should save you some money, but it won't heat your entire house unless it's rather small, or you run it nonstop.

  9. Corn is a good source of heat. It burns very hot. The biggest reason I would not get a corn stove is that with the production of ethanol and the food market the cost of corn is going to keep going up. If you get a stove get one that will burn wood pellets or corn. That way you have a choice of fuels to use. Wood pellets are also carbon neutral because wet-her it rots on the ground or you burn it the same amount of carbons are released into the atmosphere. They all have blowers on them so they distribute the heat well you can also buy them with a battery back up so they will run for several hours when the power goes out. Sizes vary you can get them big enough to heat your entire house.

  10. what in the name of the immortal emperor is that? I'd swear on the adeptus astarts i don't know!
