Question:

Can anyone tell me the specifics of the Associated Content pay-scale?

I cannot find any information about the amount generally given for "upfront payment" of previously unpublished work, or how much one makes per 1,000 views. I'm trying to decide whether or not it would be a good switch from Triond. Thanks!

  1. Hey, I've been a member on the site since May 17th and I've submitted about 20 articles already. The pay has gone pretty well, considering the fact that no other site (as far as I know) pays you an upfront amount for your content before it's published, so I'm very pleased with the Associated Content system. Since I started about a month ago I've made a little over $50, and everything was legit (process everything through paypal, then withdraw funds into your account through paypal). I know that if you do the "calls for content" thing where you write about the topics they want, they'll pay you anywhere between $1.50 and $7, but I've found that in my case (I'm in college) it's MUCH more profitable to submit research papers and essays since they pay $4 upfront for any research paper or college essay that they like. When it comes to the page views, they count your account as 1 number. So let's say if you submitted 20 articles, and each got 5 views, your account has "100" views (all the views from all the articles added together). For every 1,000 views that your account gets as a total, you get $1.50, and there's no limit on how much you can make from that. It's harder than it sounds, though, I mean I've published 20 articles in the past month and I'm at like 400 views. So it's more profitable to make money from the upfronts, rather than trying to get people to open up your articles. You can check out what kinds of articles and papers I've written, my link is below:

  2. Generally upfront payment as of late has been about $3-$4 for article.  Generally Associated Content does not pay upfront for any opinion, news pieces, book or movie reviews.  However pieces that they reject for upfront payment can often be resubmitted for performance payments.  You can also claim a call for content but on news item they have generally paid only $1-2 up front however, on some of these the performance payments that result because of page views end up adding another $3-$4 while the item is still in the news (1-2 months).

Performance payments are $1.50 per 1,000 page views.

Associated Content is prompt and reliable in payment.  Good luck with your writing.  Please advise how this compares to Triond.
