There used to be a laboratory suppliers on Dryden Street, Liverpool 5, which I think was called 'Oaks and Eddons'.

They've probably moved from there because of the redevelopment, but they ought to be in the Yellow Pages if they're still in the area.

Otherwise make a deal with a labratory technician from the Chemistry Department of the University.  (The Oxford is the nearest pub!)
