Hi i got a phone call from this # (514 271 8989) 23 April 08 8:33pm. I didnt pick up and there was no voice mail either. I really dont know who was calling so i google this number (i type the whole number) and the area code for 514 is in Montreal, Canada (match exactly the number shown on my cell phone). and beside that there's a site "phone number comments" i look it up and figure out a lot of people was called by this number. That creepy.

Apparently a lot of people got a call from this number, including me.  It is in Spanish.  A recording says that you won a trip fron Visa.  You press 1 and they ask for your Visa number.  Don't give it, it is a scam to get your credit card number.  If you call the number back it says disconnected or internaltional to Canada.  

Bottom line--don't answer this call, and hang up if you do/

That's weird..I too got a call on my Cell phone from that same number 17 minutes ago..(4:30 pm, PST, 4/23), not sure where it's from either. I didn't pick up and no one left a message. it only said: 514-271-8989  (there was no 011, though I believe that those digits do not post when call shows up on my Sprint Cell)

If it IS from France, then I DO have a relative that lives in France, but it is 9 hrs. later there and it would be 1:30 in the morning!
