Can anyone tell me what Div X Video disks are and what I have to do to get them to play?

I have a new Panasonic DVD recorder thinking this would play the Div X video CDs

  1. Compatible players normally have the Divx logo on them and they are normally clearly marked as being Divx compatible.

    Panasonic do make divx compatible recorders

    Have a look on this site, if your models listed it'll tell you what formats it plays

  2. DivX is a video codec (a way of compressing video). You usually end up with a .AVI file, or sometimes a .DIVX file. Burn that file onto a CD and you have a DivX disc.

    What made you think your new DVD player would play DivX discs?

  4. You need a div x player,most dvd players won't play div x's, the cheapest one on the market is from tesco's, it's about £18
