Here are some more pictures of them.

  10. It's an adult Fennec Fox (Vulpes zerda).

Interestingly, the puppy guess isn't too far off. The Fennec Fox is the world's smallest natural canine. This excludes dogs that have been breed to be smaller, such as Chihuahuas. So in fact, they are technically related to a common puppy.

Fennec Foxes are naturally found in the Sahara Desert of North Africa where their sandy colored coats are a perfect camouflage. They primarily hunt small rodents and insects, and eat a variety of desert vegetation, which is how they obtain most of their water. Their huge ears help them to dissipate heat, but also allow for amazing hearing. Their hearing is sensitive enough to detect insects walking on the sand some distance away.

The Fennec Fox is the only type of fox to be commonly kept as a pet. However, it's generally a bad idea and often illegal. While Fennec Foxes can be kept in a domestic setting, they can never truly be domesticated and come with a myriad of problems.

If you're considering purchasing a Fennec Fox, please do some extensive research first. If you're simply interested, also feel free to investigate. There's lots of great information available.
