Can anyone tell me what exacly is a GED??? ?

im having trouble now i was discharged from my high school because i have lots os absences and not enough credits i can go back but i iwll have to start from 10th grade once again(im 17 now) i was talking with my concelor today and she told me that i have only like 2 options eight going back and starting all over again or taking the GED but what exacly is if ????

is it somekind of series of test ??? and how long does it takes to get it ???

im thinking about going to beauty school and i was wondering if they will accept me with a GED

A GED is a General Education Degree. Its generally held as an equivalent to a high school diploma. You take a test to get it and a cosmetic school should take you with one. Talk to your counselor again to find out more about your state's GED program.

A GED is the alternative to a high school diploma. Most schools will except it. You will have to take test equivalent to the graduation test. You can take GED classes if your not prepared.

GED is a easy way out of High School. But you have to take a test. Based on four subjects and its a 2 day test. 3 hrs each day when i took, that was like at least 6yrs ago.  If you get a good school you can get yourself into a good college or a specific college. if not, you just have to work your way up from community colleges.
