What about those paper dolls that you cut out and are all connected... You could color each with different ethnic appearances or something like that?

what about the hippo and the turtle that became freinds there is a book out about it it also helps children understanding being differant is okay.

If the kids are 4/5 years old, you might try this....

Read a book about kindness, then have tell the children that you are going to be watching, and whenever you see a child do something that is kind, you will write it down and put it in a jar/basket.  At the end of the day, open up the jar and read the things you've written down.  After doing this for a few days (it wil take a little while for them to catch on), tell them that you would like them to be watching each other and telling you when they see a classmate do something kind.  You write it down, and again, read these at the end of the day, including the name of the observer as well as the person doing the kind act.

they can make bracelets.  start with yarn or elastic.  different types of beads.  or even pre-cut some construction paper strips and have different items to decorate them (sticky gems, glitter, markers).  they could be friendship bracelets.
